Dual degrees (Degree-seeking students)
Students from double degree partner universities have the possibility to complete a double degree exchange in which they follow an Arts et Métiers degree programme and receive one degree from each university.
There are two types of dual degrees:
-
The Double Degree in Engineering (The Grande Ecole Engineering Programme)
- The Double Degree Master’s programme
The Grand Ecole Engineering Programme
In order to become a double degree student you must be enrolled at a partner university with which Arts et Métiers has a double degree agreement for the Engineering programme.
As a double degree exchange student you are admitted to the last years of a five-year Engineering programme. Since Arts et Métiers is a “Grande École” only the last 3 years of the Engineering programme are taught here, our 1st year of studies corresponding to the last year of the Bachelor’s.
In order to obtain the Engineering degree you have to study at Arts et Métiers for a period no shorter than 2 years. For further information about the study scheme and plan, please contact the International office or your academic supervisor at your home university.
Each year of study is divided into 2 semesters, each semester counts for 30 credits (ECTS). The first 2 years offer mandatory core courses in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering where students acquire a solid background in Mechanics, Materials, Energetics, Manufacturing Processes, Electronics/Automatics, Industrial Organization. The 1st year courses are given in all our campuses except for Paris. The 2nd year courses are given in all our campuses. Courses start early September.
In the final year each student choses, among the 32 options offered, the one that suits him the most. During the 2nd semester of their final year students carry out a 6-month internship/placement in industry. Each option is taught in a specific campus. Most of the final year courses start late September, a few are available in January.
